Kellyann’s Organizing Services was birthed out of a desire to create a simple, meaningful and enjoyable life for my family and finding what truly brings me joy and satisfaction. In June of 2016, I started a blog and wrote the following post.
Do you want to come along?
I am determined to create a simple, meaningful and enjoyable life. Have you ever found yourself in a place where you realize you’re not getting any younger and now is the time to go all in and create the life you desire? Well that’s where I’m at in my life and I’m excited about the possibilities!
I was at work walking through the office the other day and the following question popped in my head, “if you could do anything what would it be”. I thought about this and of course I googled it (I google everything).
Interestingly enough I found an article that talks about how people have a calling but they never fulfill it because they stay in their occupation. They never follow the calling because they are comfortable in the job they are in or they aren’t sure how to achieve it.
The next day, I pondered that very question and determined what truly impacts me and gives me the most joy. I realized it’s when I am helping someone, my family, friends, fellow church members, a coworker and even strangers. I can look back at times when I have visited someone in the hospital, when my family helped move a widow into her new home and when my daughter and I bought Easter baskets for a man who couldn’t afford Easter baskets for his daughters. This is when I experience that feeling of complete joy and satisfaction. When I have touched someone’s life.
I am on a quest to create a life that will provides my family the freedom and the ability to make a difference using our lives to help others. It starts with simplifying our lives to allow room for opportunities to help others.
I have started this process but I have not completed it. I believe this will evolve as I go on this quest. Below are a few questions I asked myself to get started:
What are your priorities?
Is anyone or anything influencing those priorities?
Do your priorities line up with your values?
What brings you the most joy?
What areas do you need to make a priority?
What are your natural talents?
Join me in this quest and do some soul searching of your own. We don’t have to do what everyone else is doing. Let’s create our own definition of success.
As I look back at this post, I have come a long way in a short period of time towards my goal of a simple, meaningful, and enjoyable life which brings me joy and satisfaction. I have discovered that I can take my passion and turn it into a business. A business that gives me joy and satisfaction because I am truly helping someone. I’ll tell you more of my journey in the next blog post.
Got to run it’s organizing time!
