Where to Start?

Are you running out of room in your cabinets? When you open the door you can’t find what you need. It’s time, I know, decluttering the kitchen and organizing it, is a daunting task. It’s a bit overwhelming when you think about all the items in the kitchen.Take a deep breath, we can do this together.

I have listed out four areas that will help you complete the task at hand. A complete checklist is below to give you step by step instructions. Now, get your coffee and let’s begin.

First, you have to find out what’s in the cabinets. Empty the cabinets and set up areas to sort like foods and items. You’re counters and kitchen table is a perfect area. This will let you see exactly what you have and how much of each type of food, dishes, pots, pans, etc.

Second, you have to decide what you’re going to do with each item. Always check expiration dates on food items.  Are there any old dishes, pots or pans you’re not using? Donating them would be a great solution to free up space.

Third, think about how you work in your kitchen.  Be strategic in your placement of items back in the cabinet.

Fourth, take steps to organize your items to prevent clutter in the future. Remember discipline is key. Always put things back in the designated spot.
